The Missions and Ministries of
Beverly Drive United Methodist Church

Beverly Drive United Methodist Church is a very active congregation, offering many
opportunities for you to become involved in living the Christian life.
----------

Ø       Beverly Drive has a great lay leadership.  Since their conception as Adams Street UMC, they have reached out beyond themselves to be Jesus Christ to this community and beyond. We strongly believe that “The world is our parish.”

Ø       I believe Beverly Drive has always done and will continue to work for making disciples for Jesus Christ

for the transformation of the world. We will be meeting in Jan and Feb to plan out the ministries for BD reaching out.

Ø       We do feed the poor, the mentally challenged.

of our church and is an important missionary unit of our church.

Emmaus Reunion Groups
Two-thirds of the membership have been on the Emmaus walk, and the church lives out that
ministry in their everyday living. We currently have two active Reunion Groups. These groups
make agape gifts for children’s homes and nursing homes at various times of the year.

Emmaus Info

Active youth group and M & M’s children’s ministries.

Agape Gifts
Many of these groups make agape gifts at different times throughout the year to deliver

to nursing homes, home-bound, state hospital, and children’s homes in Wichita Falls.

Operation Christmas Child

We fill shoe boxes with toys/hygiene supplies for children all over the world.

Prayer Circle Ministry

BDUMC is a praying church. When there is a need, this circle begins to pray. It does not  matter whether they know the people or not. We believe prayer changes things. Prayer changes lives.

Faith City Mission
We bring a worship service here each month, funds, and agape gifts. Our youth are very active in this service.

The youth also have an outreach ministry to the Mission.

School Back Pack Ministry
Through the UMW Response magazine, it came to our attention that most elementary and Junior
High schools have this ministry to send food home for these children for week-ends, but the high school
students got left out. BDUMC has adopted two high schools with youth who had this need and
supply them with back packs of food/snacks for the week-end.

Friendship House
Friendship House is a home for the mentally challenged.  Our ministry with them includes a
Special Christmas Dinner and providing them a place to gather for worship and fellowship.

Retirement Home Ministry
Midtown Manor is a retirement home, where we sponsor a worship service
on Sundays, the Gables worship once a month; Rolling Meadows worship
once a month; and a hospice ministry.

Berean Bible Study
This Bible Study is lay-led, and meets every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday Morning Bunch Bible Study and Missional Outreach
This group meets on Wednesday mornings at 8:30 to study the Scriptures, and
then sponsor Friendly Kettle. This group also makes Christmas and Easter
gifts for the children’s home, home bound and Nursing Homes, and state hospital.

Home Visitation
Our Home Visitation team visits the home-bound and nursing homes.

Sewing groups

We have two sewing groups. One makes children’s play clothes that are donated and sent to Mexico and an Indian Reservation in New Mexico. One makes cloth hand bags that are donated and shipped to Honduras and other areas of the world.
